TEACHERS

Lucille Festa: americancountryrugs@gmail.com
Lucille’s workshops are designed for those who love primitive rugs; focusing on the use of textures, wide cuts and colors appropriate for the pattern design that becomes an “instant antique”. Her goal is for you to get a better understanding of hooking primitive rugs using textures and old colors. If you are bringing a rug you started, don’t forget to bring your wool. If you are starting a new pattern, I prefer it to be from my collection. To help me prepare for the workshop, students will be contacted to discuss colors and pattern.
Sarah Guiliani: uhookrugs@yahoo.com Sarah loves working with students in all types of hooking from fine cut tapestry to wide cut primitives. In addition to custom drawing patterns, she will suggest including embellishments to enhance the outcome of the hooked piece. This class will explore the world of all cuts ranging from the antique look to modern interpretations. Students should plan to work with a variety of textures, spots, and overdyed wool. The workshop will include current rug hooking topics, tips and techniques. Students are contacted prior to the workshop to discuss their rug pattern, custom design, and color choices. Students may begin a new project or spark up an existing project.
Maureen Rugar: maureenrugar@gmail.com
Maureen teaches for beginning students as well as experienced and in every conceivable form of rug hooking. Although her personal preference for hooking is wide cut, she is also skilled at the art of fine shading to 3-D hooking, and Waldoboro hooking. Maureen is not afraid of a challenge.
Diane Stoffel: stoffeldiane@hotmail.com
Diane will encourage this workshop to be an open class. Each person picks what they choose to work on. They also need to let her know what they would like to cover during their short time together.
