We meet four times per year on Saturdays. Our meeting locations can change to include both the Lincoln and Omaha metro areas. On the day of our meetings, we hook together all day, lunch included, with a one-hour meeting at 1:00 PM and an educational program. For 2025, we will hold our March 8 meeting in Omaha, our June 21 meeting in Roca, our September 13 meeting in Omaha, and our November 1 meeting during our retreat in Schuyler, Nebraska. Everyone is welcome!
For specific meeting locations or to subscribe to our newsletter, please contact our chapter president. Our newsletter is free to any interested person.
Chapter History
Midwest Rug Hookers was formed in 2017 for the purpose of hosting one large annual event. Today, at 60+ members, we sponsor the Nebraska Spring Hook-In in Lincoln, the Nebraska Fall Hook-In in Omaha, two workshops per year with nationally known teachers, quarterly meetings with all-day hooking, ongoing beginners rug hooking classes in collaboration with Metro Community College in Omaha, an annual member retreat, and an e-newsletter published widely throughout the Midwest promoting events and sharing our news and the news and accomplishments of other Midwestern ATHA Chapters. Our goals are to provide learning experiences for rug hookers, to introduce our favorite fiber art to newbies, and to create community in as many ways as we can.
