In 1979, Peg Hansen founded the Association of Traditional Hooking Artists, (ATHA) to promote interest in the art of rug hooking.
Over 45 years later, ATHA boasts a membership of 3,400+ members and over 80+ chapters nationwide.
ATHA’s purposes are to:
Encourage — creativity of rug hookers to express their talents freely.
Educate — rug hookers to various techniques in rug hooking.
Exchange — ideas and information within the rug hooking community.
Expand — community awareness of the art of rug hooking.
