The Biennial is:
Educational:
- Choose among nine classes offered each day on Thursday/Friday/Saturday.
- Learn new rug techniques and tips.
- Attend programs, lectures, and demonstrations.
Informative:
- Meet and visit with National officers and ATHA representatives.
- Chime in at the general business meeting.
- Shop fifteen vendors offering wool and supplies.
- See the latest items on the market.
Inspirational:
- Enter or view rug exhibits and enjoy the talents of our creative members and friends.
- Meet fabulous teachers, rug hookers, and authors you’ve only read about.
- Connect and collaborate with rug hookers from all over the U.S. and usually some from Canada, Japan and Australia.
Energizing:
- Receive a registration/goodie bag with items made/collected by the ATHA host Region 8 members.
- Participate in local sight-seeing tours, and learn about the Kansas City area.
- Renew old acquaintances, visit with friends, and make new friends in our open hooking area.
What can I do now to get ready for the Biennial?
- Review the schedule printed in the ATHA magazine for classes & events & mark your favorites.
- Book your hotel room. Scan the QR code from the ATHA magazine, OR visit www.atharugs.com and look for the link, OR call 866-837-4214 (use the mini code ATA to help locate our block). If rooms are full, a second hotel will be secured as soon as possible.
- Do you have a login at www.atharugs.com? It will help when registration opens.
What are the fees of the Biennial?:
- Atha Members – Registration Fee $80. This fee includes: attending the Biennial, the opportunity to sign up for classes and evening events, attending the Fiber Art Show, Vendor Marketplace, Open Hooking Area and a welcome bag
- Non-Members – Registration Fee $112 - This fee includes: attending the Biennial, the opportunity to sign up for classes and evening events, attending the Fiber Art Show, Vendor Marketplace, Open Hooking Area, a welcome bag and a 1-year membership to ATHA, including the magazine.
- Spouse – Members and Non-Members – Registration Fee - $50. This fee includes: This fee includes: Attending the Biennial, the opportunity to sign up for classes and evening events, attending the Fiber Art Show, and Vendor Marketplace. It does not include a welcome bag.
- Class Fee - $78 per class. This fee includes class instruction and a boxed lunch. Materials or class kits will be paid directly to the teacher
All registrations will be handled online and you must be a member of ATHA as well as have an email address to register.
As we get closer to the 2022 registration, a step-by-step instructional video will be emailed to members and available on www.atharugs.com
